Here we have a beautiful mid 19c miniature pin cushion in the form of a stool. The piece could have been a sampler as it is upholstered with wonderfull little silk petit point embroidery of a griffin. Antique Primitive Framed Needlepoint Sampler Rooster Chicken Tin Farm Country
Wonderful old prim framed needlepoint of a rooster nesting upon a golden mustard colored compote surrounded by an array of autumn root vegetables. Complete with tin candle sconces hanging upon the wall. Background is hunter/olive green in color with a mulberry wine colored*table* upon which the rooster sits. The vegetables appear to be turnips. Radishes, possibly some garlic bulbs. Another very unique round*spikey* looking vegetable.okra pods? In the center sits a dark purple eggplant. Very nice, detailed, intricate work. In beautiful condition for the age.I can find no faults with it. In original green wood frame. Not under glass. Wear on one corner of the frame(as shown) Quite large.measures approx. 24" x 20 3/4" I would date this piece to the turn of the century up to the early 1920's.

Plus the poem'Travel East-Travel West-After All-Home's Best' The sampler is cross stitched in shades of blue, red, pink, and black, with a scroll work frame. The overall condition is decent, but the linen backround is a bit yellowed due to age, and there is some browning throughout, as can be viewed in the pictures. The frame looks original, but has some losses and scratches. The framed sampler measures 14.5" high. And 12.5" in width. Overall, a nice depression era piece of primitive folk art. Boldly colorful antique banner sampler w. stag or deer, fantastic color
The color here of this silk on linen sampler is absolutely fantastic. absolutely unfaded though I'm certain it dates to the first 1/4 of the 19th century or even earlier. Unfortunately. Whoever made this piece neither dated it nor identified herself. But the colors and detail are wonderful. a superb example of the craft. Measuring 17 7/8" x 8 1/8" in its frame, there are no apologies. She's being offered, moreover, without reserve but buyer pays $14 for domestic USPS shipping.

Description: Great old sampler. Probably English. Lots of things going on in this sampler, so I will go through it top to bottom. There is a nice green stitch around the border. First line top says If ye love me keep my commandments. Be sure your sin will find you out always. Then there is some green stitching as well as alphabet and numbers. Below on each side is olde English letters. Framed between the letters is a verse which reads, Behold the lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1st 29th. This verse is flanked by urns with flowers and a butterfly. There are more Olde English letters below those and also between them and framed in stitching it says thou God seest me. God is love. There are flowers and crowns as well. Under that it is signed Sarah Elizabeth Harris age 11 1864. There is a row of crowns then a verse done ... morein more of a cursive script that says Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee crown of life. Underneath that is the tree of life with serpent and Adam and Eve. On either side of the tree is a deer(to the right) with crowns above it and a tree and red bird. Also there are small green trees on each side of the tree of life. Left side there is a tree with black birds, a crown and a bird on a green branch, as well as a heart. So many wonderful things to look at and admire in this sampler! It is in a black frame which has wood on the back. With the frame it measures 18-1/2 X 14-3/8. Inside the frame it measures 16 X 12. Condition: There are several holes as pictured above. There is also some scattered stitch loss especially in the wreath around the upper verse. There is fabric deterioration on the edges. ESTATE FRESH ANTIQUE 1833 SAMPLER LARGE SIZE PEACOCKS HEARTS FRAMED
This is a beautiful antique sampler circa 1833. This is a large size sampler measuring approximately 16" tall by about 11" wide. The stitching is missing stitches here and there- I have tried to photo the most prominent areas of loss. The date is stitched in and I have photoed it. The sampler is in good condition with some signs of wear. There are areas of fading on the piece and a couple of tears. The sampler has a border of red and green flowers with hearts in the bottom corners. There are two peacocks in the sampler about 2/3rds of the way down. The sampler is framed in a modern frame behind plexiglass. This is a beautifully done early 19th century piece of needlework. This particular piece came out of the lifetime collection of a country collector's estate and was the finest example of sampling she had. VERY EARLY 19th CENTURY ANTIQUE SAMPLER STITCHED FROM CONNECTICUT ESTATE
This is a great early sampler in vivid colors with many unique designs on it. The author/ artist of this piece was either very young or just learning. In the second line of the piece the"j" is missing and in the in the fourth line"u" is missing. Remarkably most of the colors are still good. The blues. Reds, and whites are still easy to read while the yellow/ green color has faded considerably. There are small areas where the stitching has been lost. The bottom third of the sampler has the most loss and wear and it is hard to make out the words and letters. I have done my best to photo them but please ask questions if you need further information. The bottom right hand corner has a date- it looks like"182" I cannot read the last number in the date as it seems to be partially lost but it may be another"2" ... moremaking this sampler circa 1822. This great American sampler measures about 16&3/4" x 9" in its thin wood frame. The stitching seems to be on a rough fabric- almost a burlap. The piece is behind glass and is in overall good condition for its age. The middle has a decoration of what may be initials, birds and what may be nationality flags? The bottom portion may be family initials? This is a wonderful piece of Americana- and is just in time for the holidays. It would be a great present for someone who collects early primitive pieces! An excellent 19th c. Orange. New Jersey child's embroidered antique sampler, C. 1875. This early sampler was done by Sarah Thomas, when she was 12 years old in 1875. Sarah was born in Orange, Essex County, New Jersey in 1863. This is in excellent condition, the colors are very bright& there doesn't appear to be any damages or loss, some very minor staining. There is a wonderful floral border surrounding the sampler. At the top it reads: Sarah Thomas her work aged 12 years 1875. Below this there is a phrase: pray without ceasing" Completing the bottom are three large potted flowers. There is a bird atop the one on the left& the one in the middle has several large hearts for flower buds. The detail in this early sampler is remarkable and the colors are as bright as the day it was made. It is housed in an early. This sale is for one of the finest and most elaborate 19th century samplers I've seen offered on e-bay. It is rather large. Measuring 25 1/2" long by 16" wide. It has a myriad of vibrant colours depicting everything a child could imagine. It has a house, alphabet, numbers, roosters, peacocks, trees, urns of flowers, patchwork blocks, a white cat, even a horse and a little girl standing at the door of her home with her dog. Look at the elaborate zig zag multi coloured border.It is dated 1862. Please look at all the pictures with the zoom feature to see the best condition description. The sampler dates from somewhere around 1800. I have seen a similar deer on a sampler that was dated 1797. It measures approximately 18 3/4 x 19 inches or 47.5 x 48 cm. The embroidery is in good condition. Considering the age of the sampler. Some light colored stitches have been lost(for example the light stitches of the deer) but this is not very visible. The colors are still very vibrant for a sampler of this age. The fabric has some very minor staining on it. Has one small hole in it(near the mouth of the deer) and one repair(near the small deer in the bottom right corner) Some of the dark stitches have run a little bit. Antique Early 19th C. N.E. Embroidered Child's Needlework Sampler, House, Trees
An early 19th century New England child's needlework sampler. Signed Mary Branco, aged 10. On the top there is a biblical verse: I bless for thy word, for Jesus and his love, and for thy promise Lord, to reign with thee above. In the middle it is signed Mary Branco aged 10, on the bottom there is a three-story brick red saltbox with birds on either side, with trees, shrubs& grass surrounding it. There is loss to some of the stitching, though there doesn't appear to be any holes or repairs, please see all pictures for a better description of its condition. It is housed in an early frame which measures 14 3/4 inches wide by 14 3/4 inches tall, the sampler itself is 11 3/4" wide by 11 3/4" tall. A wonderful piece of early needlework. A school sampler that ... morewe would date to be from circa 1825, with the name Elizabeth Burrow, which has been framed in birds eye maple, glazed and installed into or on a small table made of tiger maple. The sampler features many interesting motifs done in multiple colors, some of which have faded into soft pastels, though the reds and the black have retained some vibrancy. You can see two sailing ships, a few flowers and trees, a couple of animals, sheep and dog, we think) and a central group of buildings, a school perhaps or possibly the homestead farm. We tried to find Elizabeth Burrow, only to discover that hers is a fairly common name, so we could not pinpoint her identity. The framed portion of the table measures approx. 15 3/8" by 11 3/8" and the table stands approx. 18.25" tall. You can see that the fabric is fragile with age stains, etc. especially along the lower edge, and frame has wear to the veneer, but even that looks old, and smoothed into the frame. From end-to-end, the wooden Adirondack frame measures about 23 inches long and 14 inches high. The embroidered sampler itself is 17 and 1/2 inches long by 8 and 1/2 inches wide. The entire piece weighs about 2 pounds. From the front, the sampler and frame are in wonderful condition with glass that shows only a few barely noticeable scratches. Excellent Rare Antique 19th C Silk Sampler Sing A Song Of Sixpence Nursery Rhyme A wonderful and Id imagine pretty rare piece. I have sold quite a few samplers over the years and not seen such a nicely done nursery rhyme specimen. This Victorian 19th C one has a paper label on the reverse saying it was worked by Edith Wall Morris? She was born 1854-1933. It depicts the Nursery Rhyme. Sing A Song Of Sixpence. It is divided up in to nine segments. Four pictorial and five with parts of the rhyme. The top picture showing the cook carrying the blackbird pie. Middle left showing the King counting his money in the counting house with his dog, middle right, the Queen with her cat eating bread and honey and the bottom picture being the maid hanging out the washing and blackbird swooping to peck off her nose. All in borders of maple leaves and a central ... morewreath an ribbon. The pictures are not just outlines but are fully embroidered with such detail. The whole item is very large and is in a frame measuring 73 x 62cm. The oval mount measures 51 x 42cm I will be removing it from the frame for posting as it weighs over 5kg and doesn't do the sampler justice. It will be posted flat in strong card. and with mount.
