There is one water spot on the top over the D, one over the B, and the side near the word HOME is darker near the frame. The frame is wood, with a dark section, and gold around the glass. Beautiful Antique Lace Sampler tablecloth 39" x 72"
This piece is just gorgeous and features an astounding number of different laces from embroidered to net to bobbin lace. Pictures speak for themselves. It is a very large piece. 39" by 72" I had a difficult time photographing it in its entirety. There are a few very minor flaws. One small stain and a couple of pulled spots in the netting. I didn't even notice them until I really gave the piece a good hard look when I was photographing it. It is truly magnificent!

Antique Family Needlepoint Sampler. In original frame. Remounted on acid free paper after found in the 90s in Pawcatuck, Connecticut. Sampler itself is overall in very good condition. There is one small hole in the upper right corner. Beautiful and still brightly colored flower garland across the top with ribbons. Some of the thread used for the text is a light color, so is difficult to read, but it is readable. I find that very interesting, but tend to think the sampler is the correct date. The family was from the Stonington, CT. area. Please keep in mind this not a new item. signed 1839 Up for auction. Fresh from an old local estate is an ivory and indigo cotton and wool? jacquard coverlet. I'm not sure, but looking at it under a loupe it looks like the ivory part is cotton and the indigo part is wool. I am not an expert on this type of textile. But it is reversible signed on two corners: made by W.S. MEL LINGER 1839. It measures 83" by 74" There is a small hole in the middle and one on the edge, see pictures. Antique Georgian Era Silk Regency Embroidery Sampler
Absolutely stunning- Is the only word that came to mind as I happened on this Antique silk embroidery at an Estate sale of a prominent physician in upper New York. Created most likely in georgian times this masterpiece would have been made by a seamstress or Artisan perfecting her craft or perhaps as a means of expression. As in those times little other art supplies or materials would have otherwise been made available, so what was at hand- is what would have been used. This wonderful Antique is quite colorful with lovely gold's, blue's, green's and a small amount of red. Up for consideration is a lovely Antique Victorian 19th Century Paper Punch Sampler. The sampler measures approx. 24" x 11. It has the saying" Gold Bless Our Home. It is in a lovely rich wood framing with inside gold detailed leafing which you can see in some of the pictures. Condition is very good- only a slight discoloring in the gold leafing as seen in Pict. 5. But. Considering its age, it really is in very good condition. I have had other samplers not in nearly as good condition as this one is. You will be pleased.

Antique American Marking Sampler Sarah Marshall in 1816 Age 10 ~ Silk on Linen
Up for auction is a beautiful American marking sampler signed by Sarah Marshall. Age 10, and dating to the early 19th century. This marking sampler is very neatly worked in silk on linen, and features a zig-zag border, the alphabet(up through V) in fancy script capital letters, followed by the entire alphabet in smaller-sized capital block letters, the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4, followed by the entire alphabet in lower case letters. Under these letters and numbers, Sarah stitched"Sarah Marshall" and"age" and on the next line"d" likely for descendent) her parents initials, HM" and"EM" and then the number"10" to report her age. On the next few lines are more numbers and letters, ending near the very bottom with"16" likely for 1816) and her initials"SM" in large letters. ... moreSarah's stitches are small and uniform in tightness, her color palette pleasing, and her composition neat and nicely balanced. This sampler is in very good condition, although there are two little stains, one near the top left and the other near the bottom left. Remarkably, there are no holes or tears, and no color runs. Sarah's sampler is framed in a simple maple frame with a gold gilt liner. And measures 14" by 10" including the frame. There is a nylon wire on the back so it's ready to hang. Up for auction I have a vary early Sampler done by a Sarah Smith. She was eleven years old when she made this piece in 1815. We just purchased this recently from an Adirondack Lake camp. The sampler was framed about 50 years ago and was in the house when owner purchased the property. The frame was undersized and the sampler was folded along the horizontal edge to fit the frame. I removed it from the fame which was inconsequential to the value of the sampler. There is some fraying along the edges and with the item itself. You should be able to see this with the scans I provided. All in all. Its in very good condition for being 198 years old. The motif is multicolored with green red. Gold and yellow. RARE size antique motto sampler, Faith, Hope and Charity,
Selling some of my perforated paper antique motto collection. Rare small size Faith. Hope and Charity. Looks to be very old. Glass is very wavy and has bubbles in it. See close-up photos. There is a little bit of thread loss as seen in the photos. Stitching is 99% intact. Tiny bit of thread loss. This is just as I purchases it years ago. The background has darkened and adds to the charm of this piece. The words. Heart, cross and anchor are all stitched in wool. All original. It has a sturdy wire on the back for hanging. It has a heavy and very old cardboard back. Beautiful carved Adirondack frame with nice corner leaves. Only one tiny leaf point is missing on the upper left. Inner gold liner has usual dark spots and crazing on it. It measures 13" x 15" The motto looks like 8x10" I will be listing two more vertical mottoes today. ... moreMotto is accurately described. antique 1800's Victorian Motto Sampler - With Joy We Greet You
This stunning motto is in quite good condition. It has been owned by my family for over 40 years and has been treated with great care. As can be seen in the picture. There is missing thread in a couple of spots on the W and in the bottom portions of the G and the Y. The original frame features heart shaped wood added to each corner, and the wood is shades of brown. The upper right corner of the frame is a bit scratched and there are some small white dots on the upper left edge, which could be very small dots of paint? It is backed with smooth cardboard and some of the original nails are missing. There is a wire for hanging. The motto itself measures approximately 19 x 7.5 inches. Including the frame it measures 26 x 14 inches

Welcome to my auction for this fine antique English sampler. It dates before 1804 because the internal S is shaped like an f which was used in English language up to 1804. Meticulously executed by Catherine Anne Smith when she was only 8 years old. What extraordinary skill at such a young age! Entire surface is delicately stitched with multiple images including crowns. Birds, flowers, tree, leaves and angels blowing horns. Decorative floral and leaf border. The birdseye maple frame with a gold insert displays this work of art beautifully. Colors are neutral shades of beige with deep green and black. The beige threads used are silk adding shiny texture to the surface. ANTIQUE NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER BY ANNE DINGLEY AGED 10 Size- 11 x 11 inches An interesting sampler. Worked in coloured silks on a linen ground by Anne Dingley aged 10. It is undated but I would date it to the first half of the 19th Century. It has an alphabet, flower, bird and lion motifs with the figures of Adam and Eve. It is in good condition with no holes in the linen and no apparent stitch loss, however, there is a considerable amount of fading to some colours. I have removed from it's frame and will send as shown. An Antique Cross Stitch Sampler consisting of alphabet letters. Numbers, flowers, crowns all contained within an intricate border surround completed by an Emily White and dated 1912. The Sampler measure approximately 480mm in height and is approximately 430mm in width the frame measure approximately 505mm in height and is approximately 460mm in diameter. The sampler has an age related amount of fading and there is some very minor staining. The dark patch around the name area is my shadow whilst taking the picture. This is a very attractive little framed antique Victorian sampler by E.J.B. It is dated 1844. The sampler features letters. Numbers, hearts, birds amd trees. The sampler, including the frame, measures approx. 23.2 cm x 23.5 cm(9 1/4 inches x 9 1/8 inches) The frame has some small chips on the edges and corners and 2 largers ones on the bottom. There is a letter reading" Sampler worked by Mary Elouise Gilpin born Nov 10th 1785. Died Aug 1855, daughter of the Rev. Jeremiah Gilpin, Vicar of Broughton in Furness and wife of George Cooper, married 13th October 1806. Given to Vera Paula Gilpin Sandreczki, by her grand father John Cooper in July 1927. There is another written note requesting that the historical information is written on the back of the sampler once it has been framed. It has the bith dates, the death dates and family history written upon it. The paper is olf and I do not know who the original author of it was, perhaps the lady herself or a close family member. Charming Primitive Antique 1817 School Girl Sampler Sarah Moore NR!!
Up for auction is this very early sampler. It measures 8 3/4" x 5" A very unique size. I believe it to be in its original frame and glass. It has the alphabet stitched on it along the top part. Then there are two animals. Dogs or horses, with a tree in the middle. The bottom has the girla name, Sarah Moore, and the date of 1817. You can see the patina and"damage" to it in the photos. It was framed in Cincinnate and based on the condition of the paper backing. It was framed a very long time ago. The paper is very fragile. BUT the frame and framing is still in excellent condition. This piece was obtained from an estate sale. I have seen dozens of good Samplers over my years and this is, by far. One of the best for color, clarity, and condition. The thread is carefully placed in the burlap style material and pulled tight. The overall color is still good and the layout is perfect. The Sampler measures 19" x 14.5" and weights about 4 lbs. Unique Antique Linen Needle point Folk Art Sampler/Picture 1927 Ship design
This linen needle point sampler is beautiful. It is dated 1927 and it has a ship on it and also the words" A ship is a Breath of Romance That Carries us Miles Away. and under that is has the initials R.S.M. and then the alphabet under that and then the date 1927 under that. The fabric is in beautiful condition and has no rips or tears. But some of the lighter writing shows some fading, but it is still readable. The outer edges has a beautiful design of flowers and leaves in pink and green. It is in a lightweight black wood frame and on the back of the picture is a paper that says" Deane& Amoss, Books Stationary, 132 South Hill Street, Griffin, Georgia. It is 16.5" tall and 12" wide. I wish I’d had another witness with me the day I discovered this late 18th Century American schoolgirl’s embroidered picture sampler. But there were only the two of us wandering through the home, slowly, quietly and with no small degree of sadness. Although I’d been in the home many times, this day was the first time since the passing of a fascinating man who died too young. I was there to help his widow, a dear friend, make some necessary decisions. Even though she was there to witness the discovery, I still wish someone else had been there as well because it’s hard to believe. I guess I should first give you some measurements ... moreand observations. We’ll get back to the“event” in a moment. The work remains in what I believe to be the original frame. Overall = 19 ½” by 20 ¾” Silk picture“mounted” on board = 16 ½” by 18” The color have remained strong. And some areas of the embroidery still glisten and catch the light in such a way that a sub-amateur photographer like me has difficultly capturing the true hues. I’ll let you know if an image is way off. Most are pretty close. The embroidery was accomplished on silk using both silk and chenille thread. You’ll be able to see this materials in my close-ups. Interestingly. The young lady chose to work in about 20 sequins. You’ll see them at the woman’s neckline as well as on the shoulders, straps and belts of her man friend. I believe he is holding a sword in his left hand. Professional artists. Antique American Framed Needlepoint Sampler 1744 18th Century Ecclesiastes 3
We have up for auction A lovely 269 year old Antique 18th Century 1744 American Framed Needlepoint Sampler Wonderful old sampler. I dont know the name of this stitch- plain? The sampler is dated 1744. I have no way to know if that's accurate but it's clearly a VERY old sampler as it's faded. It says: 2 rows of alphabet letters in maroon thread with a flower vine in green thread(summer) above and brown thread(fall)branches below it. In black thread: For everything there is a season And a time for every purpose under heaven" brown) falling leaves on both sides(winter) green branches Ecclesiastes 3(in the center. Black thread) By my hand(on the left) and done by Mary Crabtree(on the right) A row of 3 hanging stars(black and brown thread) Dated 1744(on the left) 4 trees and Age 15(on the right) It's hard to capture the color ... morein something behind glass but I think that the photos are pretty close in this case The frame is dusty and the black paint is pealing off but I'm not cleaning it for fear I will ruin something. I'm leaving this in the frame for this auction. It's safer for transport in the frame so I am including it. The sampler itself measures about 9 3/4" by 7 3/4" The frame measures 12 3/4" x 10 3/4" King James Version(KJV) 3 To every thing there is a season. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SCHOOL BAND SAMPLER - ELIZABETH TWIGG 1880 - BUTTERTON STAFFS
An antique Victorian unframed school band sampler. It was embroidered by Elizabeth Twigg for her Standard 3 test at Butterton School. Near Leek in Staffordshire in 1880. Elizabeth's records show that she was a farmer's daughter and aged about 9 when she completed this sampler. It is in fairly good condition with no missing stitches. But there are a few marks on the background fabric(see photos) It measures 15 by 7.5 inches(38.5 by 19 cm. The photos can be enlarged for more detail. A delightful antique Victorian unframed redwork sampler embroidered on linen by Eliza Lucy Allen aged 11 in 1856. It is worked with different styles of alphabets. Numbers and two little hearts. I have found a girl of this name on the 1861 census, living in London. Her father is recorded as being a waiter at the Stock Exchange. It is in good condition.
