Vintage HENSOLDT Wetzlar METAMI VERGR.25-600 Microscope Circa 1920 to 1928. RARE Offered for sale is a Hensoldt field microscope. The Hensoldt Company from Wetzlar. Germany led the optics industry throughout the second half of the nineteenth century. Then in 1928, Carl Zeiss acquired the company. The Hensoldt microscope illustrated was introduced and produced in the 1920's up to 1928. This is a rare German field microscope produced for only a short period from 1923-1928 in Wetzlar, Germany by the Hensoldt Company. The Metami is a mid-rage pocket microscope magnifying in the range of 25x to 600x. This particular one was discovered in the attic and appears to be in good shape. The rear of the scope says"Hensoldt" Wetzlar the the letters D.R.P. imprinted below it. Further below it says Metami Vergr 25-600. The top of the case has ... morethe remnants of the original Hensoldt sticker, barely readable. The entire scope is black and stands 51/2 inches tall. All the original parts(stage clips, mirror, eyepiece, etc) that are shown in the historical photos of the instrument appear to be here. The stage can be flipped out of the optical path. Hi. I have a nice original German Hensoldt Wetzlar Panzerfaust 44 rubber scope eyepice w/metal insert. Nice shape. No tears, rubber is not rotted and still supple, complete with the aluminum insert. Nicely marked Hensoldt Wetlar. This does fit an MGZ 34 scope for the German MG 34 or MG42 quite well. Although it's not the correct eye piece it does look sharp esp with the Hensoldt logo on it! It will also fit the MGZ40 for the MG34 or MG 42 if you leave the metal insert in place. Hope this helps. I also have three German Luger mags listed. For auction. A pair of vintage binoculars with original case. The markings read, Hensoldt-Lietz Wetzlar-San Francisco. It also has the logo that reads, WACHT" with an arrow through it. The opposite side reads"Dial y t" X6" near the 60& 70. The cylinders are leather bound and the glass is all intact. Works very well. One of the eye cups(bakelite? is damaged but does nothing to the functionality of the binoculars. The original leather strap is intact. The leather case is intact except for what I'm guessing was a compass of some sort on the top- it is missing. Through my own non-expert research, I have found that the'Lietz' name is spelled with'E-I' sometimes. Also, since Hensoldt was still using the"WACHT" logo with an arrow, it means that it was made between 1910& 1920. The black box contains 50“Microscopical Preparations” slides, including diatoms of various things like“The Tongue of a Snail, or"The Abdomen of a Bee. The best I’ve been able to determine, these slides became popular in the mid-1800s, and had something of a heyday in the 1880s or so. The case is in very good condition. Though i t has some scuffs- included in photos. The two front hook latches close into a circular catch. It says“Microscopical Preparations” and Hensoldt/Wetzlar/Germany with the Wetzlar logo. It also says Hensoldt/Wetzlar/Germany on the right side of all the slides. Some of the slides have a black circle encasing the specimen and others have a ... moreraised top over the specimen. Hensoldt is a German microscope maker. I have seen some slides online with“M. Hensoldt” on it. With the same sort of paper, dated to about 1880 or so. These slides without the“M. for Moritz, the founder) may be a little later, though they use the same paper and style, so my guess is that they are of that same era. One of the few mentions I found during my research of the Hensoldt slides indicated that a famous British slide-preparer had actually purchased his slides from M. Hensoldt. Took the Hensoldt papers off of them, and then put his own name on them to sell mostly because of the maker's products superior quality. I say 50 slides– but there is actually one of them that appears to be a blank without a specimen on it. None of them appear to be cracked or chipped. The leather covering on the right hand side is missing. They are very good visually when you look into them however if you look down them the wrong way around there is a small mould spot in the left hand side and a small chip to the glass within the other side. The scope is 10 7/8” in length. It measures 1 1/2” across both bells, it has what I believe is a German Sniper Post reticle which can be raised or lowered by using the knob on top of scope body. Scope is marked Hensoldt-Wetlar- Dural-Dialytan 4x Nr. 2021. The mounts look like some kind of quick release set-up, the neatest part is the horizontal adjustment is made by moving the square adjusting screw which looks like a clock winding lug. This fits in a machined dovetail to keep the movement precise. Lenses appear clear with no noticeable cracks or damage. Looking through the scope the optics appear excellent with no spots or signs of delamination. Leather ... morescope cover is in excellent condition and fits tightly. Here is a stately set of Hensoldt Wetzlar 7x56 Nacht Dialyt binoculars in original case: with Abbe-Koenig prisms. The view is amazingly sharp and clear for a binocular easily 80 years old. And likely having seen service. The central focus system is traditionally restricted from military use. However, the magnificent lowlight optics with 8mm exit pupils and mind boggling relative geometric brightness 64. These more than likely saw service in the German army. Notice the strange code scratched into the beauty ring of the right barrel. Consider also that the optical performance afforded by the giant 8mm exit pupil, Abbe-Koenig prism system, and cannonically long focal length objective lenses. The 7x56 is a rather rare binocular, and the case alone is worth a couple of hundred dollars. About the only disappointment here is the absense of the lid ... moreon the case. The black Binoculars from Hensoldt Wetzlar(Carl Zeiss group) 8 x 30 Sport-Dialyt have been used and show only normal wear and tear. They are coming in a light brown leather case with straps on them. The weight is ~1 lb and 8 oz. The case size is ~ 7" x 5.25" x 1.5" The edges of the lense frame on top are scratched. Please see pictures. There is a stain on the front of the case and some scratches. The strap of the binoculars are also somewhat worn, but also still usable. The lenses are in very good condition. Very clear! Take your time to look at the pictures to get a better idea of the condition and what you are bidding on. It shows quite a bit of use/wear with scuffs. Scratches and rust tarnishing. Its very heavy and well made but the black paint is chipping and the exposed metal is rusting. Its marked Hasselblad Hensoldt Wetzlar Made in Germany West. The glass is intact in the viewfinder but I can see quite a bit of dust and debri on the inside, you can look through the view hole and see that it works but it would need a good cleaning.
