Ludwig LM400 supraphonic snare drum with Black finish. Best Snare Deal On Ebay!!
BEFORE AND AFTER PICS Re-finished 14 x 5 Supraphonic snare drum in a beautiful black finish! 10 LUGS. From the stage it looks like a Black Beauty, however it is Ludalloy seamless aluminum. I prefer the sound of the ludalloy over the Brass personally, I believe it makes a fatter, closer to wood sound, and being this drum is the most recorded snare in history there are plenty that agree. This snare is a steal at the opening price and has no reserve!This drum had a case of ludalloy leprosy which is flaking of the chrome finish, which is very, very common for the older ones. I believe this is a 1976 according to serial number, with original working throw and muffler, original rims and rods as far as I can tell but cannot assure because I don't believe it is possible to assure this, but all rods are the same in appearance and length. I added ... morethe black washers to the tension rods) The drum was stripped of hardware, then sanded(outside of shell only) to remove the worse of the flaking chrome. Painted with glossy hammered black paint on outside and some gray on inside(see the pic where ludalloy sticker got painted) inside had a little flaking too. It was then reassembled and ready to go. I did not clean the rims, but if you take a S.O.S. pad to them you can return them to their original luster! I just did this to a set of tall rims on a 50's Roger's Holiday and they were 5 times as cruddy as these rims and they now look awesome! The painted finish has no effect on the sound that I can detect, and I recorded before and after and it sounds exactly the same to my ears. I figure if a wrap that is credit card thick has little to no effect on sound of a wrapped drum, I'm sure a coat or two of paint is undetectible) I will never get tired of the sound of this drum. I also own a LM402, these two models and even the acrolite are the best sounding snare drum you can buy in my opinion, and I have owned close to 100 snares, including $1000 plus boutique snare drums. Or need room in your panel for an extra circuit! These breakers are very hard to find& if you do you will be paying a lot so I figured maybe someone would be interested in a cheap one. RTR Traxxas stampede brushless best deal on ebay
This truck is RTR super fast and fun to play with. I'm including a small Lipo battery. It worked when I discharged it for storage but no guarantees.
